the SELLOPE project

The SELLOPE project was born in 2009 from the need to create an environmentally friendly security envelope, suitable for transporting valuable items or documents, as an alternative to existing plastic ones on the market. The use of environmentally friendly raw materials and an innovative production process enabled the creation of a kraft paper envelope 100% recyclable and biodegradable, in compliance with Directive 94/62/EC and 2018/852/EU on packaging materials. The project was co-funded by EASME (Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, an entity dependent on the European Community) as part of the "CIP Eco Innovation" initiative, which was developed to incentivize innovative products made from environmentally friendly materials.
